It’s that time of year again when we all get stuck in the mud! We’re getting our spades and trowels out and we’re all planting and weeding. All the children are very excited and each get to plant and care for something in the plot.
We are very proud of our school garden. Help is needed each year in preparing for planting, weeding and maintenance, Wendy Nairn, a keen and experienced gardener directs and plans the gardening schedule and parents are asked to help! Please get in touch if you would like to help us out – who knows, you might learn a thing or two!
We are so lucky and appreciative of all parent’s assistance as well as the help from Wendy. Wendy has over 30 years extensive practical experience growing vegetables both for restaurants and for herself. She is a wonderful enthusiastic experienced and incredibly knowledgeable teacher, she is also a founder and committed member of the organic movement in Ireland. Wendy is passionate about producing fresh nutritious vegetables using sustainable wildlife friendly methods. She teaches a number of courses in county Wicklow where she is well know for her extensive knowledge of organic sustainable methods of growing.
We can’t wait to see what they produce this year!
