On the 3rd March, the whole school enjoyed taking part in World Book Day. World Book Day changes lives through a love of books and shared reading. The mission of World Book Day is to promote reading for pleasure, offering every child and young person the opportunity to have a book of their own.
Designated by UNESCO as a worldwide celebration of books and reading, World Book Day is marked in over 100 countries around the globe.

Here in Scoil Realt na Mara, each child dressed up as their favourite book character and discussed their favourite books and why they love them. Each class held a raffle for a book token, encouraging them to continue their love of books and to explore the new characters and stories they heard about from their pals in class on World Book Day.
Thanks to the Parents’ Association for sponsoring the tokens.
