It’s that time of year again – the temperatures are rising, the birds are building nests and it’s time to get the seeds and bulbs in the ground!
The school garden project is looking for volunteers to assist our wonderful gardener, Wendy. Wendy has over 30 years extensive practical experience growing vegetables both for restaurants and for herself. She is a wonderful, enthusiastic, experienced and incredibly knowledgeable teacher. She is also a founder and committed member of the organic movement in Ireland. We are so lucky to have her!
Every year, Wendy makes sure that each class gets time to sow and grow their own vegetables. However to ensure each child gets an opportunity to get “hands on” in the garden, she needs parents to volunteer their time to help.

Volunteering means that each child’s seed / plant is correctly grown and kids get more time to get their hands in the soil! Not only that but you will learn loads from one of Wicklow’s best, and most well-renowned organic gardeners.
Volunteers are required for one morning a week – Wednesdays from 9am – 12:30pm approx). No garden experience needed – you will learn on-the-job!
All volunteers must be Garda vetted – this is a simple process. Forms can be obtained from Ann in the office.
If you are interested and can spare an hour please let Ann know on 0404-47488.
